me and the three housemates jake, yukio and adrien all went to barcelona for a week, staying with yukio's family. they live in an apartment in the city centre. i'm not going to be able to say anything about barca that hasn't been said before, just go if you haven't been.
we arrived at midnight, but that's early enough in spain so we were in the pub by half-past.
drank absinthe in a bar called absint... am i mean a bar called "London".
drunkness ensues... the apollo nightclub adrien and yukio.
a really nice market just off la ramblas. liked this photo due to the skinned rabbits beside the carrots.
museum of modern art. the feet on the tv jump, and the wires holding the tv up are connected to little arms that move it in time with the jump. so the feet jump left, the tv sways left. just thought it was cool, no idea what it represents. i'm holding a competition for the best answer, send emails to shewasmadeofchimps at gmail. i will post a prize to the winner. and by best i mean funniest obviously.
146 at the beach. it was raining the first 4 days. bummer. (chortle/snigger... "bummer"!)
jake bought a barca jersey. we're known as 146 because we live at 146.
Temple of La Sagrada Familia. Goudi started it in 1882, and they hope to have it finished within 100 years. lazy spaniards, stop going to sleep in the middle of the afternoon and you might get the thing finished a little quicker.
Barcelona from up high. a reminder of how shit cameras are compared to the naked eye.
Yukio has a theory that in any neighbourhood you see these it is tolerated to smoke hash in the bars. this one is outside his local.
Limerick Bar! 2 blocks from Yukio's house, he's drank there many times but it never clicked with him about the limerick bit until i pointed it out. lot of irish pubs in barca. lots of irish pubs everywhere.
Dow Jones Bar. every drink has a price on the screen, and if a drink is in demand, the price goes up. something's not selling, the price goes down. every thirty minutes or so there's a stock market crash, and all drinks drop to the minimum price. everyone runs to the bar and sometimes you can get a round in for nothing, or even half-nothing. pint of guinness starting price: 4.60.
next we went to razzmattaz, the biggest nightclub i've ever been in. 5 rooms catering to all types of music. this was taken on the roof, all my other photos are too crappy due to low light. great club.
Yukio's scooter. pretty.
Beach II: sunny edition. yukios parents and little brother also present.
Camp Nou, Barcelona v Mallorca. Yukio has two season tickets, and he borrowed two more off a friend. not the best game ever, barca won with a scrappy OG in the 88 min. the job.
again at night.
next day, our last day, we took the open top bus to catch the few touristy things we hadn't done yet.
airport. done.

Hey guys, I see you have a great time in Barcelona.
Barcelona is a really beautiful place and for sure it's worth visiting. It's one of those places you want to move to after visiting.
It's so beautiful, so vibrant, the city that never sleeps and would never bore you. I've been to Barcelona 5 times and I get to know it better and better and like it more and more.
One of the greatest things in Barcelona is its architecture. It's not only Antonio Gaudi who makes it special but every building in Barcelona is different and one is more beautiful then another.
