HOLIDAY - THE TRAINS
few details on the trains. €15 to brussels. €15 return from there to bruge. €38 to paris on the TGV high speed train.
wikipedia on the TGV:
"The French TGV (Train à Grande Vitesse) is the fastest conventional train in the world, using powered metal wheels riding on metal rails. In February 2007 it was reported that the TGV had broken its own 1990 record with a new speed of 553 km/h (343.7 mph) under test conditions with a shortened train (two power cars and three passenger cars).[1][2]"
it was pretty fast yeah. paris is 170 miles from brussels and it took 1 hour 15 mins. when we arrived at paris nord train station we were searched for drugs by the police, probably because we still had amsterdam tags on our bags. we didn't have any of course. here's a picture of the police.
